On the Outside

The Tank 500 is a large SUV with bold lines and subtle highlights. Like its smaller sibling the Tank 300, there will be two grades on release with the Lux arriving months earlier than the Ultra. LED headlights and DRL’s will adorn either side of the large front grille while color coded bumpers, parking sensors and door handles will ensure a classy unified look.

Not much more is known until official specifications are released but the overseas Tank 500 measures 5078mm in length, 1934mm wide and 1905mm high.

Four colors have been slated for release being the black, white, silver and gold.

On the Inside

Similar to the Tank 300, only luxury will be offered initially with both models having a full leather interior, heated front seats and sunroof. The interior is set to be black themed although a lighter tan trim and a white trim is available overseas. Confirmation of color combinations will come from GWM with the official release.

A large 14 inch touchscreen will display Apple carplay and Android Auto in it’s full glory as well as a super clear view of your surroundings with the 360 degree camera system.

A 12 inch display is set inside the instrument cluster to provide full digital readouts as well as important information.

Power Delivery

Following GWM’s vision of an electronic future, the Tank 500 will be available with a 2.0 litre turbo charged hybrid engine similar to the Tank 300. This sporty little engine will push out 255kW of power with 648Nm of torque. Coupled with a 9 speed auto transmission with full-time 4WD driveline, the Tank 500 will be no slouch either with a braked towing capacity of 3,000kg.

World class intelligent 4WD technology will almost let you drive the Tank 500 anywhere. There will be an all terrain control sytem with 11 modes as well as a low range and rear differential lock which will give you exceptional off road capabilities.
